Real commitment looks like a twelve hour flight from Alaska to Tampa. We decided to come to Tampa for a couple of reasons, the Supershow in Hershey was cancelled due to COVID, and it is warm in Florida! It was in the high teens when we left Alaska so the odds for warmer weather were in our favor. It is amazing how easy it is to forget sunshine and flowers of summer so to say the least my eyes were starved for color and Florida delivered! Flowers and green trees versus snow and frosty trees, both beautiful, but the change was welcome. Our goal on this trip was to confirm the type of RV we wanted. In Alaska RV choices are limited, and could not provide real confirmation of what we suspected. Friends and family tried to assist with suggestions but in the end we needed to see for ourself, the RV show did not disappoint, rather it was somewhat overwhelming. With so many different kinds of RVs to look at we were able to confirm what we really knew we wanted a Class A diesel motorhome over a 5th wheel. We were back at it the next day and pretty much decided Tiffin was the way for us to go, more on the actual decision later.
While in Florida we had hopes to see a SpaceX launch in Titusville, FL. The timing was perfect. Unfortunately, the launch was delayed and we were unable to see the rocket take off. So instead we went to the Kennedy Space Center. It was great fun despite the fact a lot of the exhibits were closed due to COVID. Since this was not our first time here, compared to the last time we were there, we could see attendance was at about 25%, so we had few lines and lots to see.
We left Florida with a clearer vision of our future plans to live on the road discovering new "Here's" to share with you.
